The Studio

Good rooms keep
good company.

It started at 222.

222, the 1893 Queen Anne Victorian that inspired Studio 222
The house that started it all.

Studio 222 takes its name from the house we grew up in: an 1893 Queen Anne Victorian that Marjorie redesigned from top to bottom.

There were antique chandeliers and original stained glass windows. There were also kids rollerblading through the house, dogs on the furniture, and friends who stopped by whether we were home or not.

The dining room table might be set two days before a holiday. The good china was always used. Beautiful things were part of the day, not saved for another one.

That is the feeling we design for.

A place to live.
And live well.

We like a room with something to say. Color, pattern, antiques, art, and pieces that don’t all come from the same place or time.

We care just as much about how it works. A sofa you want to sit on. Window treatments made for the room. Cabinetry with drawer depths and storage planned around what you actually keep.

Our studio is based in Chicago and Pittsburgh, with in-person and virtual projects worldwide.
